A lot of chatter online about casting within R6 so I wanted to share some thoughts. A thread.

1. Developing casters takes time. Prior to this season there were just 4 spots on the English broadcast. 4 spots over 5 years. There weren't many opportunities for new talent to grow.
2. If you have feedback, word it in a way that helps. Constructive criticism can be extremely useful for casters but most of our scene complains without offering specifics. I was lucky to get tons of feedback at the start of my career. It absolutely made me better at what I do.
3. Don't rotate casters. It takes time & effort to find a solid rhythm with your partner. Switching after every match is like going back to the start. Synergy leads to better banter, better flow, and better cohesion overall. Broadcasts do better when there are established duos.
4. A thriving, competitive Amateur scene is crucial for developing new talent. Challenger League, National Leagues, & other community leagues *need* to be promoted and streamed. There must be a way for new voices to sharpen their skills while gaining meaningful experience on-air.
5. Whenever new talent comes from other games, a vocal portion of our scene lashes out, creating an unwelcoming environment for them. Give new talent a chance. Our game is extremely hard to learn and new people *will* make mistakes. Set your expectations accordingly.
TL;DR - If we want our esport to grow we need to have a healthier dialogue about casting. You are totally allowed to criticize us but please do it in a way that actually helps. None of us want to be bad at our jobs, I promise. Your feedback can help us, and our scene, improve.
