AN OFFICIAL RANKING OF TYPES OF STREET NAMES

[a thread]

Like on your personal favorite!
Numbered streets: 9/10. Classic and makes for easy navigation, but maybe a little boring! NYC gets a special mention for the rigidity of its numbered grid.
Lettered streets: 7/10. Makes for a V short address. Sometimes confusing because I forget the alphabet.
State names: 8/10. Classic, elegant. You TOO can live at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave!
City names: 7/10. Elegant, but risky. What if you& #39;re a Cleveland fan who has to live on Detroit Ave?
TREES & other flora: 4/10. SO boring. After "Main", Oak and Maple are literally the two most common street names in America.
Presidents: 6/10. Instantly iconic, but many presidents have troubled histories.
Civil rights leaders: 7/10. Almost every city rightfully has an MLK Blvd. Dallas gets style points for this intersection.
Confederate generals: 0/10. Abso-fucking-lutely not.
Rugged sounding, but non-existent geographic locations: 3/10. Trust me, there are zero canyons in Northwest Oklahoma City.
Vaguely British placenames: 6/10. A manor for each man and woman. Come home to your very own Downton Abbey.
Colleges & Universities: 5/10. Academic aspirations for your abode. Bonus points if its your alma mater, deduct points if it& #39;s a rival school.
Lastly, suburban streets named after the house developer& #39;s dumb kids: 1/10. I hate these with a passion.
Bonus round: this GEM of an intersection that leaves no ambiguity to where you are. 4/10.
