Reading @mlsatlow's article on "Categories in Religion" for the first time, and think it's really useful in thinking through if we should still use "wisdom tradition" or "wisdom literature" or not. I've already note that the "problem of definition" for both is the same struggle

In my chapter where I have to talk about this part of me just wants to say, well you can't really define it so I'll just say nothing, which is exactly what Satlow says not to do. Same when I finally get to my cult book about not wanting to define what I mean by it bc problems

Dear reader, @adlewis made me come up with a tentative definition and explain what I was choosing and why before my book proposal was accepted it. He wouldn't let me shy away from making a commitment to a definition and a model even if they change later
