The Michael Wolff book SIEGE reports that Trump talks to his domestic policy adviser Sean Hannity "as often as 6 or 7 times a day"—sometimes for "hours." We still don't know if it was Trump who disclosed military ops data to Hannity the night America almost went to war with Iran.
PS/ This matters because the fact that Sean Hannity has an open line to Trump was known to the Iranians at the time that Hannity went on-air and disclosed military ops intel that appears to have led to Iran erroneously shooting down a Ukrainian airliner, killing all souls aboard.
PS2/ As I prepare for tomorrow's vote on which Proof of Corruption excerpt should come next, I can't stop thinking about this part of the book's Iran chapter relating to Trump, Hannity, and the attempt to convince Iranian AA batteries a U.S. air assault was imminent. Why do that?
PS3/ Certainly, Hannity went on air and said that he had exclusive information about America's military operations. Certainly his intent—as is clear from the video of his show from that night—was to make the Iranians believe that the United States was about to bomb their country.
PS4/ It's equally clear that Iran had no vested interest in shooting down a civilian Ukrainian airliner, and that the catastrophe was the result of Iranian AA batteries believing a U.S. air assault was imminent. Where would they have gotten that idea from? Who else was saying it?
PS5/ At the time, some said it was inconceivable that the Iranians would be watching Trump's top domestic policy adviser as he discussed an imminent American attack on Iran on live television. My belief is that it would be far-fetched to think they *didn't* have someone watching.
