Thread.....The Jewish population is tiny, if it were its own city, it would not even be one of the 10 most populous cities in the world. So our representation is small, and thus the number of those that have been directly impacted by anti-Semitism is as well....
And because that representation is so small, that suffering is not nearly as pronounced. I was upset on all fronts yesterday with the lack of a response from NFL players, coaches, GMs, owners, etc. as well as athletes from other sports, media outlets, and the general public.
It felt as if one of the greatest periods of social change in this nation's history, the Jewish community was only pulled backwards once again.....
Make no mistake, DeSean Jackson had every intention of quoting a genocidal murderer, a man who butchered 11 million people, 6 million of whom were Jewish. From that, we use the phrases "Never Again" and "Never Forget." We will never forget what happened and we will never let....
it happen again. But we live in a world now where there are only a few survivors left and there are growing numbers of Holocaust deniers, making DeSean's comments and especially Stephen Jackson's comments all the more frightening and hateful....
Yesterday it felt as if 14.7 million people were just pushed aside again and told they don't matter.
When you are fighting for social change, you can't pick and choose.
