Yesterday was a lot. To be clear, despite what the mayor says, the current budget does not include cuts to the MPD budget but an increase. We know this isn't over. Yesterday we watched the Council try to pit essential services and underserved communities against each other and insist that in order to pay for one, funds for another must be cut, when they know they could have HALF A BILLION at their disposal if they chose to defund the MPD.

This is incredibly indicative of everything wrong with this city and this Council. More than 18,000 of you spoke out in just one month because you care about your communities. If our councilmembers refuse to show that same care we will find new representatives who do. #DefundMPD
