Today, Instagram launched Reels in India, a TikTok rip-off feature where users can create 15 secs videos. Perfect timing (for IG) obvs!

Now all IG users who hated and called TikTokers cringey will make the exact kind of content on the 'cool & elite' app.
For whatever reason you may hate TikTok (privacy violation, Chinese app, etc), you cannot deny the fact that it reached people that no other SM app could!

You don't see farmers dancing, housewives creating funny content, Sunny Leone posting with a popular TikTokers, etc.
I used TikTok for personal entertainment purposes and absolutely loved the content. Yes, there was some cringey, violent graphic content as there is on all SM platforms.

But it also gave a platform to so many hidden artists who otherwise wouldn't have that kind of visibility.
No, I am not being paid to write this thread. Just tired of woke urban millennials' elitism and hypocrisy.

I hope Indian TikTokers bring their awesome content on IG Reels & break the myth that they can only get popular on TikTok.
