2/ Scientists don't actually 'know' what lies much further beneath, than they can drill down to.
The structure of our Earth's core as taught is actually not irrefutably proven - it's consitution is only theorised as:
Crust, Mantle, Outer Core, Inner Core

3a/ Under what conditions does a magnetic field arise?
a.) Bulk of an object's dipoles at atomic level, aligned to the centre of the mass (incommensurable and non-Cartesian point - hence, if you break a magnet in two, you now have 2 centres of mass and 2 magnets - ad infinitum)

4/ We're taught that the Earth's core behaves like a dynamo.
However, no attention is given to the huge energies received by all of our system's planets from the sun via Birkeland plasma currents, which can induce planetary Aurora at BOTH magnetic poles.

5/ The motion of what is not even proven to exist at the core of ours (or any) planet, can generate such a strong and stable field?
We have 400 years of magnetic data, and not much else to go on at a global level. And some volcanic samples which confirm local fields in the past.

But the pole doesn't exist on the skin of a planet, does it now?

9/ The magnetic fields of planetary bodies are induced by the current distributed from star(s) at the centre of their solar 'systems' (within the heliosphere).

11/ Did they forget that the Earth precesses and that magnetic North should NOT be expected to remain in a fixed location on the surface?

END/ This thread may not appeal to many, but I felt irritated at seeing yet another of these pole-shift doom-monging articles, and I know the kind of fools in the fringe that will just lap this up to create FEAR amongst their audiences and more $'s.
