Test Positivity Rate (TPR) trends of Top 3 states:

(a) MH had a TPR of 14.8% at the start of Unlock1 on June 1. By 15th June, it increased to 16.5% and as of 7th July, it stands at 18.6%.
The high and increasing TPR merits attention and ramp up of testing.

(b) At the start of Unlock 1, TN had a respectable TPR of 4.6%. By June 15, it increased to 6.4% and as of 7th July, it stands at 8.4%. The 7 day TPR from 1st to 7th July has been 11%. While cases have been reducing in TN, the increase in TPR calls for more targeted testing.

(c) Delhi had a TPR of 9.5% on June 1. By June 30, it rose to 16%. But, as of 7th July, there has been a dip, with TPR standing at 15%. While the decrease in TPR is positive, it is to be noted that the state has a high proportion of rapid antigen tests in it's test mix.

TPR of the country has increased from 5% on June 1 to 7% now. TPR in the first 7 days of July has been 9.5%. The increasing TPR with increasing tests, signals more widespread infection. Calls for stricter containment efforts, more testing and tracing.
