Trying to imagine someone so broken by ambition that they're willing to flout precautions against a disease that almost killed their own boss for a photo op that supports the ideology of said boss. https://twitter.com/BBCPolitics/status/1280903069383958528
For real, how are you people just...wandering about like this? Aren't you terrified of the *actual plague* that's everywhere? Of catching it yourself or spreading it to another? Is...how do we explain
..do you not... what?
Like, if your political ideology is, it's worth potentially getting very, very sick, maybe dying, probably risking a host of unknown complications and long-term effects, to save the economy or to make some sort of point about freedom...
Then, buddy...you have picked the wrong ideology.
"You can't live in fear!"

We. Don't. Have. A. Choice.
It's been 6 months. How do you not understand that this isn't something you can make go away by wanting it to very badly? This is a deadly disease that the only defence against is *hiding*. Sorry, but it just is.
It's like a dragon showed up and it's literally impervious to every weapon we have and it's flying around just burning the shit out of everything and if you poke your head out, there's a decent chance you'll at least get a bit scorched.
And the only hope is that it'll run out of people to eat and either die or get bored and fly off. Some people are researching anti-dragon missiles but they're a long way off and basically for now we just need to concentrate on Not Being Eaten.
Yeah, we miss pubs too, but if the dragon spots you walking through town with your mates, it's going to swoop down and kill you and there's fuck all you'll be able to do about it.
In those circumstances, you'd probably stay indoors. Well those are the circumstances, actually. Except it's worse because the dragon is invisible, it covers the whole planet and it takes two weeks to eat you, during which time it'll also eat your family.
(Yes, we know people have to work and pay rent and the government - whichever one - isn't helping enough. That's exactly the point. In an ideal world, we'd *all* recognise the greater evil. That's why it being a big scaly boi with wings would help...)
What's worse about all this is that the very things that *feel* brave - going out, not living in fear, not wearing a mask or caring about distancing - are the things that will get you infected. It's counter-intuitive.
We *should* be scared of this virus. That fear is going to keep us alive. That's millions of years of evolution telling you there's danger Out There and you should curl up and wait for it to slink off into the forest. Cowardice is our only defence.
