Amazon is full of shit and I'm going to tell you how.

Who am I and how do I know?

In the past 12 months, my toy company Viahart, sold $5.6 million worth of toys on Amazon's platform. I have also testified before Congress on Amazon.

Fact #1

Every single day, Amazon profits from the sale of unsafe product sold on their website. They take a cut of those sales and when a customer loses an eye, Amazon blames it on the seller (usually in China). The person who loses an eye can do nothing about this.
Fact #2

Every single day, Amazon profits from the sale of counterfeit products on their website. They take a cut and when brands get screwed Amazon blames it on the seller (usually in China). Our legal system makes it very difficult for the brand to be compensated for this.
Fact #3

People who sell on Amazon are not allowed to do what I'm doing right now, telling you the truth about Amazon. If we do we risk suspension. This would harm me and my employees but also you as an Amazon prime member because we bust our ass to deliver excellent products.
Fact #4

For months, products sold on Amazon have been delivered way slower than in 2 days. Amazon should be giving you a refund for not keeping their Amazon Prime promise. In the contract between you and Amazon, you are prevented from filing a class or mass action against them.
They use this technique to avoid consequences for when they don't keep their promises.
Fact #5

Amazon's platform is a swamp full of fake reviews and crappy products made and sold by China. The way many sellers on Amazon make their money is by spending all their time getting fake reviews to make the quality of their items appear better than it is.
Fact #6

Amazon outsources the management of their platform overseas and it is incompetent. $2/hour people in India make hugely important decisions for consumers and sellers on the platform. These are the people who decide whether or not a product is safe or counterfeit.
Fact #7 Amazon knows all of this.

In my opinion, their main focus is managing the PR for these issues instead of solving them.

Sunlight is the best disinfectant. Help make the American e-commerce marketplace better by sharing this information.
Today, my company was suspended from sending e-mails to OUR customers by Amazon. That harms us and you in 3 ways:

1. It prevents us from e-mailing you when the address you gave us is invalid or needs correction
2. It prevents us from asking you how we can improve our products
3. It prevents you from having an easy way to contact us directly about any issues you may have with our products.

We were WRONGLY suspended for the following allegations, which are all INCORRECT.
We do NONE of these things. Period.

Take a look at the only e-mails we send to our customers. We only send one.

- The title is "We're here to help with Brain Flakes..."
- Where is the marketing? Where's the promotion?
- How are we manipulating reviews or seller reviews? Our competitors do that, but WE DON'T CHEAT
- We send one of these e-mails per order. That's it.
- There's a link to our Amazon store. There are no attachments.
- I can't speak to this because Amazon hides this information from us, but given that we send one e-mail per order I doubt it.

So @amazon @JeffBezos @jeffawilke @davehclark...
Unsuspend us from sending simple honest e-mails to OUR customers.

Americans are waking up so clean up your act.

I stand ready to discuss these issues openly and I dare you to suspend our company from your platform for telling the truth.
