The conditions facing Black America, including gun violence, are ALL DIRECTLY TIED TO THE WHITE SUPREMACIST SYSTEM. Stop trying to separate these things. This whole narrative about how we need to get ourselves together first if we want freedom from racism is entirely racist. 1/
Stop portraying Black communities as though they don’t care about gun violence when Black people are least likely to own guns & are the most supportive of gun control legislation. That narrative is RACIST. 2/
People are dealing with conditions of poverty and racism. And you’re asking why communities that are systemically deprived of every vital resource they need to thrive aren’t able to produce the same results as affluent neighborhoods in the same city. How is that logical? 3/
Y’all are so wedded to these internalized white supremacist narratives around Negroes being a violent, uncivilized race who just can’t ever get it together like the white folks do. It’s sad and it’s not solving anything. Why aren’t you demanding more resources? 4/
You’re asking why there’s so much gun violence as though Black people are the ones manufacturing the guns and choosing to make guns more accessible to the youth than education, healthcare, clean air & water, etc. Again, how is that logical? 5/
There are people fighting to end violence in their communities everyday. Instead of demanding they get the resources they need from gov’t, y’all go on rants claiming these people don’t exist at all. It’s entirely insulting. & THEN you use that to counter anti-racism protest🙄 6/
Can y’all please 🙏🏾pause & recognize how this reflects the extent to which the white power establishment traps us in a hole & tells us to dig our way out? Your affinity for whiteness is why you give the WPE a pass while evoking old racist tropes of Blk ppl being animals. Sad. 7/7
