Joe Biden wants to regulate "assault weapons" and "high-capacity magazines" under the National Firearms Act, giving Americans two choices:
1. sell them to the government
2. pay a $200 tax in order to keep each item, which will be added to a national registry

I would be forced to pay over $2K just for my magazines if this plan was passed. This seems like a real loser of a plan.
In addition, the NFA requires you to send the ATF two copies of fingerprint cards per item, passport photos, and, once approved, to get your NFA items engraved with your full name and city / state. These are all extra expenses to consider on top of the flat $200 tax.
I should add that violations of the National Firearms Act come with 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine for specific violations.
