Next up, a brief look at #readingfc loanee, Ovie Ejaria. The 23yr old attacking midfielder is on a season long loan from @LFC & has impressed this season with some immense performances, he has been one of the real shining lights in what is a championship full of glitz and glam!
Having had previous unsuccessful loan spells at clubs like #RangersFC & #Sunderland he has managed to go from strength to strength in an exciting and unpredictable #RFC team in 19/20.
This season he has amassed 3,200+ mins across their league season starting 36 of their 40 games
This season he has amassed 3,200+ mins across their league season starting 36 of their 40 games

His standout qualities are his ability to beat opponents in tight areas of the field, often when doubled up on, by using his dazzling feet and dropping his shoulder to work his way out of tricky situations and create opportunities for other, more clinical, teammates.
His ability to dribble and drive in this way has a tendency to draw fouls from opponents and OE has been on the receiving end of fouls on 64 occasions in 19/20. This is advantageous in that in enables RFC to release pressure whilst giving them a threat at the front end of pitch.
Tends to play on the wide left in either a 4231 or 4141 system, he is much more adept at making short, sharp passes on the deck than he is going on the outside and looking to swing balls into the box, having a success rate of only 34% of his 26 attempted crosses in 19/20
This next clip shows he is really considered with his choice of pass and generally has the knack of executing his final 3rd passes with the correct weight and timing. Averaging a succession rate of 76% this season places him in the top 30 Championship players in 19/20.
Ejaria has progressed this season after a disappointing spell in the @spfl last year with âGers, however, it is clear that he still has some way to go in terms of his development. Scoring just 3 league goals from an xG of 4.3 & adding a total of 3 direct goal assists.
As ever, this is intended as a brief look at Ovie Ejaria, it is by no means a comprehensive âscout reportâ and it only showcases a very small snapshot of the players abilities, deficiencies and areas for improvement from his time playing in the #EFL #Championship this term.
Canât help but feel this is a big summer for OE! At 23 it feels like crunch time, does he remain at @ReadingFC, does he make the move to a âbottom halfâ prem team and try his luck? Or does he return to LFC showcase his apparent development there and see how that pans out for him?
I should add that @zwoddeytb has produced this exceptional highlights package of OE and is far beyond anything I could produce...
