2/13 We know of 15 people with Asian heritage who served time at Eastern State. Nine were born in China; one was born in San Francisco; one was born in Japan; one in England; one in the Philippines; and two in Syria in western Asia. Let’s explore some of their stories. #HiddenESP
3/13 The first Asian prisoner at Eastern State that we know of was Yuen Loy. He was born in China and worked as a laborer before his incarceration. In 1886, at the age of 35, he arrived at ESP to serve a sentence for assault and battery with intent to kill. #HiddenESP
