When people argue that adventure time and SU have plenty of adult themes it makes me very depressed because what you're saying basically is that talking about life in ways that an 11 year old can safely engage with should be enough for adults too.
Are you going to be 50 with adult children of your own and still think its enough? When do you start feeling dissatisfied with what stories for children can offer you? Im in hell thinking about this.
What children's cartoon will you watch when your mom spends the last six years of her life angry and terrified because she no longer knows who you are when you stay with her? How will stories for children comfort you through a drug addiction you can't free yourself from?
Ifl i have to reiterate: this thread is specifically for the people i have encountered over the last 3 years who are *enraged* at the suggestion that stories for children by definition do not offer adults a transformative experience of art.
