I have thoughts on the Beinart piece:
1) we have been saying this stuff. His conclusions about the changing nature of violence, Jerusalem as a model, etc - i myself have written on, as have many others.

Quite typical that palestinians must be validated by israelis or Jewish Americans to have what we say taken seriously.
2) I& #39;m glad though that he has reached similar conclusions. It& #39;s a needed step in the right direction and I understand to what audience he speaks. So kudos

3) the quiet reassurances in the piece about how israeli jews will likely remain economically & politically dominant if 1 state is adopted was...true but off putting. This should not be reassuring.
Can& #39;t help but feel we are always the extras in a drama the Jewish community is having amongst itself
4) but if I am being 100% honest- I was almost moved to tears when he described, in his last few paragraphs, how a binational state would be a refuge for both peoples.
