At the Forsyth County Courthouse this morning for a news conference regarding the death of John Nevillle, an inmate who died after an incident at the county jail in December.
Press conference was expected to begin at 11 a.m. John Neville's family members are in the courtroom with their attorneys. Waiting for the presser to start.
District Attorney Jim O'Neill is now in the courtroom and expected to lead the news conference.
O'Neill said at 3:26 p.m. Mr. Neville fell from his top bunk from a medical situation and deputies and a nurse responded to his jail cell. He was disoriented and confused.
He was moved to an observation cell to determine what was causing his distress. Over the next 45 minutes that Mr. Neville would sustain injuries that would cause him to lose his life, O'Neill said.
Sheriff Kimbrough asked for the SBI to investigate the circumstances of his death. SBI Special Agent in Charge Scott Williams turned over his findings to O'Neill in April.
O'Neill also received a video of the incident. The Medical examiner completed his final report and gave it to O'Neill. The report is being made public now. The manner of death includes Mr. Neville died of complications brain injury from cardiac arrest after being placed....
