I'm going to say an unpopular opinion about cancel culture.

Are we ready?

Stay off of Twitter for four days and it will largely have blown over. Twitter has the collective attention span of a goldfish.
The people who are worried about "thought police" aren't recognizing that none of them--LITERALLY NONE OF THEM--have been deplatformed.

They got yelled at on Twitter. And in JKR's case, she doubles down and then the yelling starts again.

She likes it.
It also seems really weird people are, in her name, talking about her Constitutional Rights.

You do realize she's not an American? Right? Right?
Like, hey, I think everyone should have freedom of speech and life and liberty and all the actual good stuff our Constitution allows for, sure, but SHE AIN'T ACTUALLY OURS. SHE'S BRITAIN'S PROBLEM.
Deplatforming feels super laughable in a time when it took five years of sexual harassment claims to get Myke Cole a single consequence. And part two of this epic will probably involve his rise from the ashes like some gropey, gross word pheonix.

It's not a genuine argument.
