Ok so before we opine on #cancelculture we need a definition of what it actually is. Otherwise we’re talking at cross purposes. We’ll put some suggestions below, feel free to do the same
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-53330105

1. Is #cancelculture a ‘twitchfork mob’ - ie pile-one on social media calling for people to ‘shut up’ or retract their opinion?
2. Is #cancelculture boycotting and calling for others to boycott brands or products/services associated with or produced by a person who has been mysognynistic/racist/homophobic etc?
3. Is #cancelculture an employers’ decision to cut ties with an ambassador or someone else associated with their business because their views potentially bring their brand into disrepute?
4. Is #cancelculture social media users bringing a person’s views to the attention of their employer in the hope that (3) above will happen?
