Britain is to resume arms sales to Saudi Arabia.

A government review concluded that airstrikes in Yemen that breached humanitarian law were "isolated incidents".

By contravening the Arms Trade Treaty the UK is complicit in the tragedy in Yemen.

In June 2019 the UK Court of Appeal ruled that UK arms exports to Saudi Arabia for use in Yemen are unlawful.

The court concluded that the UK failed to adequately assess whether exports might be used to breach international humanitarian law in Yemen.

The landmark decision discredited the UK’s often repeated claim to "operate one of the most robust defence export control regimes in the world".

It also undermines the UK’s ability to play the role of a champion of the Arms Trade Treaty.
