be honest with your heart, wherever it is in the present moment—if you are tired, hold space for that. if you are hurt, hold space for that. if you are angry, hold space for that. if you are joyous, hold space for that.
i started to say “own that” but spirit reminded me how important language is. we don’t “own” anything. our feelings, much like our behaviors, are forever changing and transient. it is not about owning your feelings, but about being accountable to and for them; acknowledging them.
we are not in possession of our feelings our thoughts, and they are not in possession of us—think of feelings and thoughts like a kind friend who sits beside you. they are there, nearby, but they are not yours. you see them, bear witness to them, and hold space.
