this covers cico, calorie absorption, ed twt terminology and more
disclaimer: this is not to promote disordered eating or treat this as a diet, i just think if you’re gonna do this you may as well do it with some common sense
terminology:

lw = the lowest weight you’ve been

hw = the highest weight you’ve been

gw = a milestone of sorts. mini goals before you reach your ugw

ugw = your ultimate goal weight; your ideal body; the thing you’re working towards
terminology:

kcals/cals is short for calories

intake means how many calories you eat in a day

bmi is your body mass index. it’s like a weight to height ratio but i’ll get into it.

bmr is your basic metabolic rate. it’s how any calories you’d burn just by existing
basic fact #1 — calories are absorbed in the SMALL INTESTINES. enzymes in your saliva will start to break down food but NONE of that will be absorbed into your bloodstream until it gets PAST your stomach.
basic fact #2 — cico is the foundation of weight loss. it means, “calories in, calories out”. you need to consistently have a lower amount of calories than how many you burn in a day or the weight WON’T budge.
basic fact #2.5 — find out your TDEE. this means total daily energy expenditure. it’ll tell you how many calories you burn a day, and you MUST eat below this in order for fat to burn; that’s how it works
basic fact #3 — what you eat is more important than exercise unless you exercise yourself into negative net calories.
basic fact #4 — diet coke and zero cal drinks don’t directly cause you to gain weight!! however if you’re fasting, it does elicit an insulin response and basically it can disrupt your ketosis
basic fast #5 — ketosis is the state of your body burning fat
basic fact #6 — bmi. bmi depends on weight and height; nothing else. your age doesn’t matter. people of different heights can have the same bmi but weigh differently!! i encourage you to find yours out
basic fact #7 — there are 3500 calories in 1lb, just over 7000 in 1kg, and 42000 in 1st.
basic fact #8 — you can use this to calculate how much weight you’ll lose. if i wanted to lose 1kg in a week i can do 7000 divided by 7 days. that means i’ll need to burn 1000 calories a day. my TDEE is more than 1000 so i can achieve it without exercise! i’d eat TDEE - 1000
basic fact #9 — fasting is often easier than restricting. if you load up on your electrolytes you won’t suffer many side effects too.
basic fact #10 — don’t fucking dry fast you dummy. you’ll lose the exact same amount of fat and just celebrate because you’re dehydrated and it shows on the scale. don’t be dumb.
basic fact #11 — liquid dieting is when you don’t eat ANY solids for a prolonged period of time. you’d live on juice, water, milk, coffee, etc
basic fact #12 — don’t steal bodychecks. it’s easy to reverse image search and you’ll look like a fool. just admit your fatness and work on it
basic fact #13 — it’ll be in your best interest to use thinspo of people who are from the same background as you. why? because those cute ulzzang girls are beautiful but will have a different bone structure to me, a black girl. do what you want but it’s kinda sabotaging urself
basic fact #14 — don’t lie about your weight loss. those calculations i showed you earlier can easily let people know you’re on some 🧢
basic fact #15 — mono dieting is when you eat just one type of thing. only eat chocolate, celery, apple etc. idk how helpful that shit is honestly but there you go
