/ As @AnnelieseDodds rightly said in her reply, big mismatch between rhetoric and reality of government’s response. Despite some welcome measures, statement does not rise to the scale of the economic emergency.
/This is not a Green New Deal, but a pale imitation. France has committed 15bn euros to a green recovery, Germany 40bn, the UK £3bn.
/No help targeted at our manufacturers, including aerospace and automotive. This could have helped to save jobs and put us in the lead in the low carbon transition.
/No news on Project Birch providing loans or equity stakes, no help for SMEs facing debt crunch, and no answers for 3 million people missing out on government schemes as represented by #ExcludedUK.
/Any help for hospitality welcome, including vouchers, but they will only be available for 13 days in August and that does not feel at all equal to the scale of the crisis in the sector.
