i want to cry why did i start reading this... now i can only imagine (and possibly give my two cents on) what skr's dress could be like for the ball

i hope to god it wouldn't be a big poofy dress.... DEAR GOD NOT A BIG POOFY DRESS... it's be a disservice to the ppwerful and sexy appeal that has been established all throughout the fic

but from a costume designer's POV, changing how people dress (i.e. a transformation/makeover) at a crucial point in the story is a powerful tool in pushing forward a narrative...

however, at this point i don't think it would be beneficial for skr's character to have this unnecessary girly, grandiose makeover plot device...

we have seen how she has transformed throughout the years and chapters... this could be evidently seen in how ssk's views and opinions on her have changed

maybe emphasizing her mature and refined character development with a sleeker (but still romantic and feminine) costume design would be more beneficial to cementing ssk's changed perspective of her which could further press his desire for her..

idk idk i'm just musing at this point i'm sorry for giving unsolicited advice hahahahuhuhu i just really love fashion and design and i love it when visuals have an impactful part in story/meaning making

ok a few more things bc i hate how the thread sounded very seeking-for-male-approval centric...

i only cite ssk bc he is the only plot device through which we can see skr's character development...

not that i'm emphasizing he, a male, is the authority in which to seek validation from... but everyone else had barely anything to say about skr's past version aside from herself...
