Happy Wednesday. District Attorney Diana Becton has decided to charge Nicole Anderson and David Richard Nelson with a hate crime for attempting to cover up the #BlackLivesMatter 'mural' which was painted on a street that is maintained with tax dollars taken from the public. 1

The two of them can face up to a year if convicted. If Martinez CA is allowing #BlackLivesMatter to use the streets of the city to promote a message they have opened up all roadways as a public forum and anyone should be allowed to print their messages there. 2

This should include overwriting something that has already been said. The symbolic 'mural' which promotes a cop hating/America hating group is not above criticism, painting over it does not constitute hate, but an opposing viewpoint. The irony of watching national monuments 3

being torn down while local officials stand idle stands in stark contrast to what is happening in Martinez. Did the couple vandalize? Yes. I cannot dispute that they did, not do I condone vandalism. The hate crime charge, however is excessive and politically motivated. 4

No need to be ugly about it. We just want this madness of over charging citizens to gain political clout with fringe movements like #BlackLivesMatter to end. They've been exposed as Marxists and unless @ContraCostaDA wants to support that ideology she may want to reconsider 6
