The limits of animal consciousness are a little like the limits of individual humans to grasp the invisible laws of capitalism
So you could say for example that the fact that pets let us dress them up as Mario or the Godfather shows that they *understand* the transactional nature of them receiving food in return for humouring us
And maybe. Maybe to some extent they do. But more likely "you scratch my back I'll scratch yours" is just a platonic and geometric fundamental built into the rules of the game of life, that is felt and responded to like gravity or hunger or cold. "Yeah man...I get a rash..."
The main difference is humans talk to each other a lot. A lot. And have a lot of words and capacity for abstraction and visualisation and the social sharing of the above
So we can say all kinds of groovy things about gravity or thermodynamics
But...Capitalism, in fact History itself and the modern world is a glass house WE have built around OURSELVES and in some some sense is built out of US
And in this sense we are only like rats in mazes that are products of Dependant Origination. Think of a Mandala perhaps, with cheese at the middle instead of Buddha
Anyway. I come back to The First Noble Truth. Dukkha. Unsatisfactoriness. I have no intent to oversell Enlightenment, but I would say that any effort I make to Get That Cheddar is always worth it
The problem for revolutionaries is that the glass is bullet and bomb proof and transparent. That's all I have to say in this thread for now
