Johnny Depp told the High Court he believes Amber Heard was plotting a #MeToo "hoax" during most of their relationship as an "insurance policy".

He was responding to an unsent email she wrote in 2013 calling him 'like Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde', saying she was scared of him at times

Heard wrote she had seen Depp urinating, soiling himself, & passing out after drink & drugs binges. She claimed his friends & staff were 'enablers'.

Depp says Heard's allegations of violence against him are "patently untrue" & disputes her impression of drug-taking and drinking

One of the claims he denied today was picking up Heard's dog Pistol and holding it out of the window of a moving car while 'howling'.

“I can say it is a very enduring image but it’s an utter falsity, it’s fraudulent, it’s not true", he said.

Also in evidence, Depp likened Heard to a 'lesbian camp counsellor', & he and actor Paul Bettany joked about burning & drowning Heard as a witch.
