🤡 Exams update 🤡
In spite of how critically vulnerable I am (immune system cancer has a way to wreck your immune system for life), I was in fact forced to choose between putting myself at great risk and go to a test center to have my reasonable adjustments met, or waive them
I gave notice that I would like to proceed with a test center, against my medical advice because I simply CANNOT AFFORD to defer.

So now, today, I am trying to book said exams at a test center, by calling @PearsonVUE. It was already a bad situation, it gets uglier.
After NUMEROUS attempts, which literally took hours, calling the number indicated by the BSB, I managed to get through, only to be told 'sorry Ma'am but you need to call that number instead'.

It's the administration nightmare every adult dreads, but also quite odd, isn't it?
So the number indicated by the BSB apparently wasn't the correct one and it took me numerous attempts and hours to be told that. But the new number I am given is not even open yet...

It gets weirder! I know for a fact that a couple of other students with RAs were booked!
And they were booked, by calling the first number. No need to call a second one which is closed atm. So obviously, before hanging up, I asked about this odd disparity in the treatment of students. The person hung on me.

@PearsonVUE also ignores my dms.
I'm waiting for the new number to open to be able to call. See what will happen then, maybe I'll be booked, maybe I won't, it's hard to remain emotionally involved when anyway, how exams have been organised has caused me so much stress + cost me so much time and energy already.
Oh and of course there are charges to call the new number I was given because it's international! The ÂŁ19,000 fees were not enough for the BSB/our providers to do this for us perhaps? We need to pay more now? Who knows what sort of bill we'll face after hours calling this number
Now turns out a phone call to the new international number is ÂŁ3 a minute. That's higher than I expected, I don't have ÂŁ180 to spend just to be on hold for another hour (at the very least), with out without reimbursement later on. Nope.
So apparently the BSB and providers are aware of the situation and there is or will be a meeting going on today and we should hear back after. I'll keep updating this thread as things develop, hopefully towards some happy ending.
