For three weeks now, I have exercised every day and had a daily calorie deficit of at least 750. I have not lost a single kilo.
Next time some dude mansplains being overweight to me as “self control” and “calories in v calories out”, I’m gonna scream

It’s just so frustrating when people fail to recognise that bodies don’t treat inputs the same way, or expend energy the same way.
Important context: I have PCOS, which means I am insulin resistant. That also means my body just doesn’t treat calories in the same way as a non-IR person.
PCOS has really strange symptoms. You wouldn’t think that ovarian cysts would cause a low temperature, would you? And while people with PCOS have power average body temperature, it’s not because of the cysts. The cysts are one of the manifestation of a hormonal imbalance
PCOS affects somewhere between one in ten and one in five people during menstration. Yet doctors can’t even agree on *what it is*. Is it a disease caused by insulin resistance or does it cause insulin resistance?
Part of the reason this is on my mind (aside from my frustration) is because of this exchange I had on this trash website the other day (CW for major fatphobia)
The point of all this, in case it wasn’t clear enough, was to strongly reject the notion that one’s body is a direct reflection of one’s habits. In many, many cases, that just isn’t true. You should not make character judgements about people based on their body.
