Why not go back to 1999 IFEM when the exchange rate was $1 - N22. / $1 - N88 so that we can tell the story properly. What puts pressure on the Naira? What makes it fall against the dollar? Demand for imports!! Can you list 5 items that were sourced locally in your house? https://twitter.com/OluyomiOjo/status/1280197867416805378
What do export majorly to earn forex? Crude oil. We earn forex from crude then we spend the same forex and more forex on importation of petrol ⛽ and food.

"We can't eat 'stone rice", "we can't eat local turkey", "local chicken is not sweat".
Import restrictions, we complain.

We spend $30 to extract crude, sell it at $42 then take the little gains on it to import every damn thing.

A lot of you said the govt should float the Naira in 2015, if we had done that, we would be chasing the dollar with N2000
We would be in a mess like Venezuela. In the midst of this pandemic and global economic crisis, we would be staring at famine, looking for food and queuing for bread and yam.

The Naira will increase in value when we cut needless spending on imports. Simple as A,B,C..
