every time you wanna use the terms “assigned male at birth” & “assigned female at birth” I want you to really consider whether sticking people into these new binary boxes is actually appropriate for the conversation you’re having.
if you’re not careful you will just reproduce binary cisnormativity with new labels & misgender people in the process. don’t make it a habit to categorise people into afab/amab. don’t become one of those people who try to find out “but are you an amab or afab nonbinary person?”
note that I’m not inherently against afab/amab terminology. these terms can be helpful in some conversations, but more and more I see people using them as a new gender binary without even thinking about it, and we should really avoid that.
