A written record of the pronunciation of Edensor, Derbyshire? But no record of Belgian refugees there. Ensors shoes (US) is currently going out of business, website of no use anymore. The idea of using a Belgian name for a piece of clothing not new, see Duffel and duffel coat.
There's a J. Van den Cloot at Four Crosses, Prysgol, Chwilog in the summer of 1915. Probably from Dendermonde. On 14 July 1914 (!) the newspaper La Flandre Libérale transliterates Pwllheli as 'Pollthelly'. But let's leave with a quote from a bio on Ensor (Swinbourne 2009)
