Once upon a time, I was Going Through It™ and a friend asked if they could pray for me. I& #39;d never been asked before, people would tend to just say "you& #39;re in my prayers", but it made me think about the idea of someone being prayed for who didn& #39;t want it.

Any thoughts on this?
People could not want prayers for many reasons. They don& #39;t believe in it, they& #39;d rather something else be done, they might not want that person& #39;s help, etc.

Now, for religious believers, prayer can& #39;t really do any harm, but shouldn& #39;t those who don& #39;t want prayers be respected?
Another discussion to be had is when the phrase "I& #39;ll pray for you" or similar crosses a line and becomes condescending, bc that& #39;s definitely a thing
I might regret this thread in the morning but idk, it& #39;s an interesting concept to me. Prayer itself can& #39;t really do any harm but disrespecting the wishes or boundaries of someone can.
