analysing ateez's answer mv (and theories)

*note that i will also be talking abt things i find interesting/appealing to me and might be related to the storyline. if you have something you want to add that have a connection with the thread feel free to reply
#ATEEZ #에이티즈
1) a person in white clothes declaration is added into this scene. I'll get back to this later
2) 0:41 you can see mingi on a boat. from a theory i read, this boat leads to afterlife, which would be where he's heading. he is holding something in his hands [im not sure what it is but please tell me if you know/if you have an idea what it might be] watch mv for better look
3) 0:53 joong's scene where he stands in the middle of a ground/floor clock. there was only one hand on the clock. single hand clocks were more common in the past. if you look at the single hand, it doesn't move at all in this scene. this suggests that the time he's in is the +
past, which is why the clock hand doesn't move, because all the time has passed already for where he's at.
4) 1:12 yunho is in front of three mirrors. 'in spiritual symbolism - mirror reflects truth. psychologically - mirror symbolises the threshold between the conscious and the unconscious mind. by looking into a mirror, one may look towards the depths of their unconsciousness. the +
image the mirror produces is therefore symbolic and can be made sense in both conscious and subconscious thought processes'. since there are three mirrors, it may represent past, present and future.
5) 1:20 <lets call the white thing snow> wooyoung walks on the snowy ground. snow was pouring down and it piles up on the floor. this is where it came to me, he was in the bottom part of the hourglass. now let's call the snow 'sand'. the sand is still pouring down, which means +
there's still time. the present is still going on. (ill explain about this more)
6) 1:40 wooyoung is gripping something tight in his hand. what would it be? the sand on the ground. the sand was the past, which has all the memories of what had happened. now why is he gripping it? he might be frustated of the past. he might have regretted not doing anything +
that could have stopped all of this from happening. if you're wondering the situation they're in[which is also from a theory i read], it was that this cb concept is school and youth. way before smn era which was pirate king's prequel. there would be fire, which was said them +
wanting to burn the school. and the reason they want to do that was because of the 'adults' who are controlling them. keep in mind the adults are the enemy. they're the bad guys. *i cant find the theory but ill link it in if i do
7) 1:43 wooyoung is reaching out his hand plus the look in his eyes. he's probably reaching out for help, or he's reaching out his hands to help someone. the look in his eyes says that he got this tiny hope <more connection to other scenes in the mv which i will mention later>
8) 2:00 hongjoong's scene on the floor/ground clock. the only hand moves three times in exactly three seconds. now the time is going on, which means he's not in the past anymore (cont)
but one thing about single hand clock is that one movement each second does not equal to one second passing.
9) 2:02 there is a shot/transition going up from hongjoong's clock scene which leads yeosang’s scene in the desert. if you look carefully in slow motion, pause&play and see what happens. i found this but I'm not sure if it's supposed to mean something(i can't take a clear ss +
because it goes too fast). so if you think about it, it looks like this. the machine thingy in clocks.
10) [idk the time] wooyoung in hourglass scene, he keeps looking up. why is that? because it's the present/future and the things that are going on. he's looking at the upper part of the hourglass.
11) 2:22-2:25 san(left), yeosang(middle), wooyoung(right), now there's three of them in the 'past', they're currently in the bottom part of the hourglass. remember when wooyoung was reaching out his hand? now yeosang and san is there with him. the other two might be there to +
save him. if yeosang and san were there because they escaped from the present/future, the other members would've been there with him too.
12) 2:39 now wooyoung is the only one in the shot. focus on the sand. they are going up while wooyoung looks up as well. to sum up, sansang went to save him and now something changes. they might be bringing him back to the present/future.
13) 2:49 there's three of them again, looking up.
14) 2:56-3:00 there is a blue butterfly on wooyoung's hand. from a theory i've read, butterfly = rebirth/transformation. it might also symbolise consciousness, which is wooyoung being the only member stuck in the past. hence why he's the only one seeing the butterfly +
rebirth and transformation. sansang just helped him get out of the past where he's stuck in. now he's going to be a different person from the one who used to be stuck in the past.
15) 3:19-3:20 there are seven butterflies around him. how many members are in ateez? eight. 7 butterflies + wooyoung = ateez. i don't know what the members have to do with butterflies and why they are blue, this is how far i got with the butterflies.
16) halateez and present-ateez confronts each other on the royal table. both hongjoong holds up clinks their glass. halajoong's drink has the foam. <also not sure why>
17) the beginning and the end of the mv. the most important points are the person with the mask, the members not there, cracked glass, what mingi was holding on the boat. something to focus on here is the sand, it wasn't there before but it is now. like what i said with +
wooyoung's scene where he's stuck in the past, this scene is in the past. so the other parts of the mv(excluding beginning and ending) are mostly them in the present. so they escaped this place, that's why it's in the past now. and the guy with the mask would probably be the +
adult. the place was a mess, and the importance of this scene, they have escaped.

and i forgot to mention the glass is from the mirror(in yunho’s scene). since the mirror symbolises the conscious and unconscious mind, they destroyed it so they wouldn't get on the wrong track (with unconsciousness) https://twitter.com/huijunbestboy/status/1280728873752092672?s=19
