The PM says he is speaking to state and territory leaders yesterday today. About 200 ADF personnel are helping in medical testing and logistical support already. Some 800 or 900 federal public servants helping in community engagement, including doorknocking in Melbourne.
Scott Morrison's message to people facing lockdown in Victoria: "The nation is with you and we will be with you each and every day. Your success is our success."

"We have many challenges in this country at the moment, but we will see our economy strengthen, we will see Australians kept safe - whether it's from COVID or the many other threats that this nation faces, and we will guarantee the essential services that Australians rely on."
The aged care royal commission will get a more than 3 month reporting extension, to February 26 next year.
Scott Morrison says it makes sense for people living in communities across the NSW-Victorian border to stay put. He says people near the border should exercise good judgement and common sense.
The PM stresses his position on border closures hasn't changed. He says "Victoria has effectively self-isolated." He says people should be able to move between other states and territories, provided no further outbreaks pop up.
Scott Morrison: "This is about Victoria isolating itself not other states shutting [themselves] off from Victoria. There's a key difference in that."
The PM says WA should continue to carry a fair share of international arrivals into Australia. National cabinet will consider a proposal for fewer international flights on Friday.
The PM says where the AFL grand final is played is "one of the furthest things from my mind".

Asked about new travel advice warning Australians of the risk of arbitrary detention in China, the PM says it was made by officials. He says no decision yet made on visas for Hongkongers to come to Australia.
"Some time yet" before Australia can secure travel bubble arrangements with countries including New Zealand, Scott Morrison says.
Scott Morrison says the job for Melburnians is "to tough it out." He says it will be tough but he thanks people in Melbourne for their efforts. The PM says all Australians have to do their part.
