It’s important to remind people, while @HamiltonMusical is still on everybody’s mind, this very important story. (1/7)
When I saw @HamiltonMusical on Broadway with @knottyyarn, I looked at the program before the show and told her that the only thing I knew about the Marquis de Lafayette was that he was rumored to have introduced the basset hound to America. (2/7)
As soon as Act One was about to begin, two secret service men scrambled over to our aisle seats and shouted “MOVE! MOVE!” Terrified, we shifted over in great haste to make room for John Kerry and his bride, ketchup’s Teresa Heinz Kerry. (3/7)
Throughout the night, John Kerry was stoic and inexpressive. Teresa on the other hand, was bubbly, a little out of her element and had the dotty eyes behind dark glasses of a rich woman happy to be out on the town. (4/7)
During intermission, I went to the restroom. I returned to our seats in time to witness an interaction between @knottyyarn and ketchup’s Teresa Heinz Kerry that can only be described as magical. (5/7)
With the kindest patience and utmost friendliness, @knottyyarn said LOUDLY and SLOWLY, to a semi-confused Teresa Heinz Kerry, the following sentence. “My FRIEND told me that the MARQUIS DE LAFAYETTE introduced this country to the BASSET HOUND.” (6/7)
I think about this, and the expression on Teresa’s face as the house lights went down for act two, whenever I need a respite from the hell that is the human condition. Thank you. The End. (7/7)
