#CampNaNoWriMo thread—a week late—but I’ve entered the chat and I’ve got some writers feelings.
I’ve been working on my WIP for about 3 years—not my camp nano project—but the hefty probably going to be about 600 pages WIP.
For #CampNaNoWriMo this year—and maybe #nanowrimo I wanted to Start something new.

I’ve been feeling v—bitter almost unimpressed with my WIP and burnt out. I’ve spent months avoiding it (even though I specifically bought my new computer for working on it)
It’s not sage wisdom to say—if you’re feeling overwhelmed take a break.

But, goddess I wish someone* would tell me that more often.
So, to step away I’m finally working on something** fun and new.

A fantasy found family, filled with tropey goodness, a vendetta, and a pansexual protag. It’s fresh and new and feels so fun.
So my focus for right now is to just write with hilarity and some angst. I just needed something new and out of my comfort zone.

So, counting some words from Friday—that I forgot I wrote—we’re at a little under 2k—700 from tonight.
Is the blank page scary? Yes.
Have I tried to plot? Yes.
Am I forcing myself to just write what feels good? Yes.

So, if this thread
accomplishes anything it is to remind myself I still love writing—and hopefully letting someone know it okay to start fresh. You’re not giving up—just taking a break.
Hopefully—I’ll write more. And maybe I won’t. But I’m just happy to be writing again.
