Another big lesson of today -- maybe of every day -- is what a scam Twitter is. This ended up being about a million petty slapfights rather than the letter itself, and I got sucked into this shit almost immediately, when, had there been no major blowup, it woulda been one tweet

and out! None of us benefit from this, but the platform does. My stance on this is "I agree with this letter and think it's important and am glad I got to sign it!" Then 12 hours later you've been twitching online yelling at idiots for all day. It's the worst.

Twitter is DESIGNED to surface the dumbest possible shit imaginable to get you mad. Which is what happened today, again. Suddenly the letter is... transphobic? Huh? Why is anyone responding to this?
