Heartiest Congrats to Brother Dr
Ashaq sahib for this stependous feat. You made us all proud.

Bandipora Youth awarded a Fellowship to Develop a Novel sensor Technology for CERN in London.
@listenshahid @SyedAbidShah @islahmufti @khatamkhel @pzfahad @nagma_morarji
Hailing from Papachan Bandipora, Dr Ashaq was Earlier selected for US based Fermilab Scientist Visiting Long term Fellowship for his outstanding performance in the year 2018.He Raised up in a middle class family, hd his primary Education in Govt. schools.
@listenshahid @shangpal
He did his bachelors from Govt. College Bemina, Srinagar and being a student who had all his primary and secondary level education in Govt. schools with lack of exposure and language skills, he would have never dreamt of what he actually is now.
Working with the world’s greatest minds at the European Centre for Nuclear Physics (CERN), Switzerland, London and Fermilab, United States.
Earlier he had qualified all national level exams which include GATE, CSIR-NET and BARC (first time in 2012 and second time in 2013) to work as a Nuclear Scientist at Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC), Mumbai. @listenshahid @diprjk @DrSyedSehrish
Apart from DRP fellowship in medical and radiation physics, he was also offered Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) Fellowship in 2012 and again in 2013 to pursue PhD at BARC.
But he gave up all these options with the only hope that he will one day work on the newly discovered “Higgs boson” at the LHC. He became joyful when he got an opportunity to work at International Centre for theoretical Physics (ICTP), Italy in 2013.
@aashiqphst joined University of Delhi in September-2013 for his doctorate and worked initially for the development of Resistive Plate Chambers (RPC's), type of particle detector used to detect muons, for future India Neutrino Observatory (INO) which is going to be build in TN.
Being a part of the Research & Development (R&D) team at Delhi University, their effrts were highly praised by many scientist all over India in 2015.Finally in the beginning of 2015, when his passport ws released,he mved to Geneva to work on Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS)experiment
Shah is working on beyond Standard Model Higgs boson (BSM Higgs) searches. He has presented his scientific work at several national and international institutions like BARC, TIFR, IISER (India), DESY Germany, CERN Switzerland, INFN, Italy. @vijaita
@kamaljitsandhu
Shah is collaborating with many international research centres like Fermilab, USA, Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN), Italy and Ghent University, Belgium. From past one and half year, he has been a author and co- author of several international research publications.
@aashiqphst, a Ph.D. student in physics hailing from Bandipora district also joined CERN in 2014 to work on this newly discovered particle. He has recently completed his Ph.D.
And has been awarded a prestigious five-year fellowship to work on the upgrade of the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN laboratory near Geneva, Switzerland.
During this tenure, he will be working on the design and development of silicon sensors for the future high luminosity phase of the LHC. His new position will begin by joining at University of London and University of Cambridge, United Kingdom.
And subsequently, he will be moving to Rutherford laboratory for testing and validating these sensors which are made of silicon technology.
Aashaq Shah did his masters in physics from Kashmir University and M.Phil from Pondicherry University before joining University of Delhi. He then moved to CERN and completed his Ph.D. recently while working with the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment.
While at CERN he worked on the search for beyond the standard model Higgs boson (also popular on the name of "God Particle"). His doctoral thesis also included the work on the muon endcap upgrade of the CMS experiment.
In the latter case,he along with the team of scientists at CERN contributd to the development & validation of Gas Electron Multiplier(GEM) detector technology.Over a 100 GEM detectors that wre developed are presently being integrated & commissioned with the CMS experiment at CERN
While at Fermilab he worked on the development of fast timing sensors for the CMS experiment at CERN.
@aashiqphst Believe that, thr are people in the valley who are really genius but don't get a proper platform and simply end up doing small things. @ainulrhbr @KhurafatiChopra
He believe that there are also people who don't really come from highly qualified and well off families but are exceptionally doing well in their respective fields. Therefore, I believe hard work and a little favor from luck can make one land on the right platform.
