I& #39;m laughing at the notion that we all live in some capitalist market paradise where competitive product and service providers compete to make us happy.

Have you tried opening a bank account, purchasing a car, or renting a home recently? Consumer does all the work.
Have you ever talked to a car salesman? The first thing they tell you is "I don& #39;t have any cars, I got no cars to sell you." Then you say "ok I& #39;ll buy it from somewhere else then" and they hang up the phone like "fuck outta here I& #39;m tryna sell some cars don& #39;t have time for this."
I tried opening up a bank account b/c the website had a promotion and I need a new account. The online application process didn& #39;t work so I called the bank and they were like "promotion? what promotion? that doesn& #39;t sound real. show it to me please."

We& #39;re on the phone.
Literally guy said "can you read the promotion to me?" and I read it like "3% cash back on qualifying deposits up to $100/month, with a total of..." and he says "never heard of that one, which website are you at?"

I& #39;m like [yourbank].com and he& #39;s like, HUH, WEIRD.
He was like "I don& #39;t know about that one, but if you think it& #39;s real, I can stay on the phone with you while try the application process again, how& #39;s that?"

Literally did it all myself, except now I& #39;m narrating what I& #39;m doing to the CSR (nice guy).
Capitalism is severely overrated.
