why the us might be banning tiktok

as you know, there has been huge tensions between the us and china recently. and now it has gotten to the point where the us has been considering banning chinese social media apps, such a tiktok.

over the years, us lawmakers grown more and more concerned that tiktok->

could be pressured into handing personal info to the chinese communist government due to its relationship with its parent company (the beijing based bytedance) and the chinese government.

this isn’t only a us concern, however. india has already banned chinese social media apps->

such as tiktok and wechat for their country’s safety.

michael pompeo, an american diplomat says that you should only get the app “only if you want your personal information in the hands of the chinese communist party.”

and even though tiktok has relations with china->

it has an american ceo who claims that the company has perfectly abided personal security laws

what do you guys think? should the us ban tiktok? comment your opinions!
