This is very specifically a colonizer thing, the idea that there's a separate world where our "beliefs" can be decoupled from our actions

Much of what people see as "objectivity" are fantastical lies designed first and foremost to allow them to feel comfortable as bureaucracies conduct mass murder in their name

Flattening morality so that you don't have to aggressively pick a side only benefits you, it doesn't do anything for the people under the fucking boots

They will always name "an enemy" but only to the level of their comfort. This is what white America believes justice looks like: treating everyone "equally" by acknowledging that the fascists are here only after they feel they can call "the other side" fascists too

The young activists of color I've been around have no such illusions, and I have to think about them a lot or else I fall into expansive despair. Picking a side, the right side, and fighting with everything you have, is much more admirable than cool detachment
