Traditional tertiary education will decline in the short run but network education will expand to levels greater than before.
Most future higher education will take place in the economy with students moving through progressively harder tasks supported by faculty, personalized reading lists and gig managers.
University personnel of the future will be scheduling tasks for students, some paid, while librarians mail them specific references. The faculty will be like coaches preparing them for each challenge. All coordinated by mobile devices. The campus will be the world.
This will tend to happen at the high end first because they have the resources and motivated student body needed to pull it off.
The distinction between "going to college" and finding a job will blur and vanish. The importance self motivation and family support will become crucial.
