things to keep you busy if ur feeling down or ur goin thru something; a thread
firstly, please never be afraid to reach out to anyone, always contact a close friend, family members, helplines or even anyone if your struggling, your worth it and u will get thru whatever’s going on. my dms are always open!
listen to music; a playlist which could hype u up never fails depending on the situation! or even one to make u cry,
let it out, that’s ok too. music truly heals, ik myself
play a game! doesn’t matter which one, go onto the appstore and have a scroll see what interests you, occupy ur mind and keep busy helps me a lot.
watch a movie. something interesting but also light & funny which you can try relax to while not having to pay too much attention. i recommend literally anything adam sandler and jim carey
watch your faves performances, that also helps soothe me a lot of the time, takes me home & makes me feel comfertable while also giving you that feeling of them performing.
go out and excercise! go out a walk, or a run or even do some home workouts! working out & moving around helps to get your endorphins running, which gets you into a better mindset and can hopefully keep ur mind busy!
therapy!! or even just talking to someone in general. please never bottle up things as it only makes it worse, you aren’t alone and you will be accepted by everyone no matter what the issue, please talk it out, doesn’t matter to who! it always helps just having some of that (1/2)
spend time with family. going to see your loved ones during a hard time can be extremely beneficial. reminiscing and talking about memories or something fun and engaging can help take your mind off things.
go do some activities with your friends. while the pandemic is still going on this may be hard but with social distancing and a lot of the measures being lifted now it’s easier to see your friends and do things like before and manage to enjoy the summer.
sleeping also helps me sometimes depending on the severity of the issue, playing some white noise or ocean sounds on my phone helps to calm me especially when having bad anxiety.
read a book, this helps to slow down the brain and engage in a world different from yours. essentially an escape, which a lot of people need right now!
watch your favourite tv show, go on netflix and just watch your favourite show and just relax and tell yourself that things will be ok, and they will, might not happen straight away but i promise they will.
social media detox. delete all apps or turn off notifications for them if that’s what is going on, sometimes it can be extremely beneficial to your mh especially these days with such fake expectations on what you should look like and act etc. sometimes it’s good to take a break
take up a new hobby/sport!! golf, tennis, gym, baking, knitting, sewing. find a passion that you love to do and let it be your escape, if your feeling down focus on what makes you happy & also keeps your mind occupied
cut out toxic people completely. it may be hard at the time but anyone who doesn’t benefit u in any way or makes you feel worse/holds anything over you aren’t worth it and shouldn’t have the privellege to speak to u, block them.

lastly, accept who u are! whatever is going on i promise it will not last forever, you will get through it. please always reach out if your struggling. my dms will always be open for help and advice. i know im not a professional but i hope this helped people in some way.
