Oak (Quercus robur)

In ancient folklore, the oak Quercus was known as the most sacred of all plants.

Oak bark, acorns and leaves are used as a herbal medicine.

Acorns have a high amount of tannins due to which it tastes bitter, it can be used as a substitute for coffee.
Oak leaves are a natural ingredient that is used in the preservation of some vegetables (pickles).

Oak leaves have an anticarcinogenic effect; due to it's antioxidant properties, oak can prevent the growth of cancer cells.
