I’m going to get hate and abuse instead of interesting takes on this thread but please before you do read EVERYTHING I have to say.

What today showed is that this fanbase is divided when it shouldn’t be. Neither Jorgi nor Kante should be abused since they’re both needed for now

There’s no need to drag a player when praising another one. Jorginho today changed the game but it doesn’t mean that he’s clear of Kante in THIS system. He’s someone who can control the game and keep possession + create but would get caught on counters.

On the other hand, it’s not because Kante’s been playing that Jorginho’s been useless. Don’t forget about his pivot with Kova and everything he had done for us. He was there when we needed him the most, particularly against Arsenal and today.

My thoughts on this: we can’t keep one of Jorginho or Kante on the bench next season and to me, even if Jorgi’s dictates the play and knows how to keep possession, he suits a system where ball progression happens from the DM. But in Lampard’s system the focus in on the two #8 s.

Hence why Mount said he was comfortable with Kante being behind him to cover defensively which would allow both him and Barkley to press and attack more. Whether you like it or not, we missed Kante in the midfield today but don’t get me wrong, he’s noway near perfect in this role

Conclusion: Both players are essential for us and none of them should be treated the way they are. If you’re a true fan, you’d never abuse any of them.

There’s pros and cons to using both at DMs and it’s not wrong to acknowlede they ain’t flawless. Criticism is okay, abuse isn’t
