WHY WE NEED SUPERMAN NOW MORE THAN EVER, A THREAD:

In an interview concerning his role as the Man of Steel, Christopher Reeve described the character as “He has a genuine love of people, and you’ll always know he’s your friend.”

1/?
Reeve never saw Superman as a God, or a symbol, or anything more than a man who just wants to help. And in a world full of people trying to kill each other, i think a movie about someone who simply wants to do his part for other people is more than necessary.

2/?
Warner Bros have said they don’t know how to sell Superman to modern society. That’s the dumbest thing i’ve ever heard. Superman is the definition of a timeless character. He’s not the one that needs to adapt to the changing times, which is something i think Snyder understood 3/?
BvS is a good example of Superman just wanting to save lives in a world that only sees him as a threat. The issue is that plot line never got the focus it deserved, and with the critical backlash toward BvS, the studio seemed to think the whole IDEA of Superman is the problem 4/?
But he isnt. Its the studios refusal to embrace the character as someone so simple and pure thats the problem, and their defiance that today’s society would accept such a figure. Maybe they wont. But they should. They’ll try.

5/?
Superman has such a fantastic cast of supporting characters and villains that the movies havent even scratched the surface of yet. He’s the single most important comic book character of all time and its a shame the people who control his future dont seem to recognise that. 6/?
But i have faith they will, eventually. They have to. The message that its okay to simply want to help others is too important to drift away.

Plus, Henry Cavill deserves a sequel.
