A/B/O, omega Dabi, cws in 2nd post, canon-ish ambiguous timeline

Dabi hasn't had a heat since before running away. He was pretty sure that his body was so fucked up from...well, everything, that he was never going to get another one. And definitely never going to get pregnant.

And even if he did get knocked up, he'd miscarry. For sure. There's no way his fucked up body could handle a pregnancy.

But that doesn't stop the fear when that once familiar prickle of heat started at the base of his neck.

His first instinct, omega, cowardly, is to run and hide and *nest*...even if during the few heats of his adolescence, he hadn't been able to do that. No, his father had made him train through it, to make him stronger.

The doctors later said it was part of what fucked him up.

But where the fuck is he supposed to hide? The league's hideout isn't exactly..private. And...fuck, that's what's happening, isn't it? Well-fed and...and...*safe* for the first time in...years...that's why his body is doing this.

Cause he has a fucking PACK. Shit.

At least he's the only one here when it starts, everyone else out on their own business. He ends up curled up under the bar between two stools, holding a couch cushion like a lifeline while his body gets hotter and his anxiety spirals.

When he hears footsteps, he wants to run...

...but he can't. Taken by instinct for the first time since childhood, he freezes, as if the (weak, to be fair, thanks to his burns) scent of heat isn't filling the bar and alerting anyone who steps inside.

As he approaches, he smells them, and it makes everything worse. Alpha.

Standing ten or so feet back from him...and he knows they can see him. He lets out a low growl, but knows it's pathetic at best, as is the uncoordinated spiral of flames that shoots out harmlessly from his not-so-hidden hiding spot.

"Well this is interesting."
