1/ so these figures are interesting. Especially Sweden. There’s no doubt Sweden has had many more deaths per capita than most, esp compared to its Scandinavian neighbours. 2/ death rates have dropped in most places, and correlate with fewer cases and lockdowns that flattened or crushed curve. But why has Sweden dropped? Why has its death rate dropped to “normal” after a surge?

“Second waves” are apparently happening, eg in US, Israel & Melbourne
3/ 2nd waves haven’t been accompanied by major rise in fatality rates. It may be too early tho. 🤞

But only Iran seems to have had resurgent deaths alongside a second wave of resurgent cases? Any other egs?

If that pattern (apart from Iran) sticks, it’s good news. But why?
